| Description | Hi Kerwin SKB is planning to change it as below in the new UI541. > old scenario (UI537) : HomeUI -> Youtube > new scenario (UI541) : HomeUI -> pin popup -> Youtube When the OK button was pressed in the two cases below, YouTube was previously executed. Youtube1_at_HomeUI.png Youtube2_at_HomeUI.png In the new scenario that will change, SKB want the pin popup screen to be displayed when the OK button is pressed. PinPopup.png Please check officially through 3PL if there is no problem with Google approval or Google policy if the PIN code input pooup appears before YouTube runs. Thank you YK.Jung | ||||

Hi YK, According to customer launcher requirement, The user MUST be able to reach the apps and games list by using just the D-pad, Back, and Home keys. if SKB setup the pin code UI, and user input the wrong ping code, user will not be able to reach the apps. This would violate the requirement. Thanks, Jason |
Hi Jason SKB will add Pin Popup Settings menu when running YouTube It will be set to off by default. This means that Pin pop-up will not be displayed by default when running YouTube Customers who wish to use this feature must set up their own. If this function is implemented please check officially through 3PL if there is no problem with Google approval or Google policy Thank you YK.Jung |

Hi YK, Before asking question to 3PL. I want to check more. As you mentioned in the title, "Request confirmation of YouTube execution scenario change in HomeUI" so If use enable the pin code, and launch YouTube from Google Settings, Will a pin code dialog pop up? Thanks, Jason |
Hi Jason If use enable the pin code, and launch YouTube from Google Settings, will a pin code dialog pop up? > No After user enable the pin code, Pin popup is only displayed in the two menus below. Youtube2_at_HomeUI.png (1,043,758 bytes) Youtube1_at_HomeUI.png (1,442,613 bytes) Thanks YK.Jung |

Hi YK, 3PL replied that many customers do this, and some customers use App restrictions https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=U8YXWOR3gz0 Thanks, Jason |
Hi Jason If it is implemented by referring to the Google link received from 3PL There is no problem with Google policy or approval. Is it correct? Thanks YK.Jung |
Hi YK, 3PL doesn't ask SKB to use App restrictions method to implement the parental control. the 3PL TAM said that "many" customers do this (parental control), and"some" customers use App restrictions method. Thanks, Jason |
Hi Jason hmm, to clear I need to see if this function proposed by SKB violates Google approval or policy. What should I answer to SKB? Thanks YK.Jung |
Hi YK, They didn't say the function proposed by SKB violate Google requirement. They replied that many customers do this similar function (parental control), and you can use App restrictions method to implement it Should I ask more? Thanks, Jason |

Hi Jason I reported this to SKB manager For additional requests from SKB SKB manager is asking us to upload this content as an issue tracker. Can you post this on the issue tracker? ( And please post the issue tracker that SKB can see. is it possible ? ) SKB wants to know if it will be a problem with Google approval if SKB implements as above. Thank you YK.Jung |
Hi YK, I've asked the question to 3PL. If 3PL has answer it why should they created issue tracker. Didn't 3PL answer enough? >>please post the issue tracker that SKB can see. is it possible ? Impossible, 3PL created the issue, Foxconn also can not see it. Thanks, Jason |
Hi Jason SKB want to know if it is a problem with Google approval if it is implemented exactly as above. ( SKB can't judge it by the YouTube link you sent. ) So SKB is asking to create a Google issue tracker with this content. Please share the created issue tracker link. Thank you YK.Jung |
Hi YK, Regarding certification issue, we can not create issue tracker by ourselves. We created certification related question to Google directly before, but Mr. Jeff ask us to check it with 3PL. Now, 3PL has already answered the question, I don't know how to convince them to create issue tracker. Didn't 3PL answer enough? Should we ask more? Please let me know how should I ask. Thanks, Jason |

Hi Jason Some customers want to restrict the use of YouTube. (Consumers are asking for restrictions on the feature because children watch YouTube all day.) Therefore, the following menu will be added to satisfy the customer's needs. (String and menu position may be changed.) YouTube Usage Restriction : off (default) / on - YouTube Usage Restriction : off(default) No restrictions on using YouTube - YouTube Usage Restriction : on Pin code pop-up is displayed when running YouTube only through the two menus below Youtube2_at_HomeUI.png (1,043,758 bytes) Youtube1_at_HomeUI.png (1,442,613 bytes) These two menus are ones that user can normally run YouTube through SKB home menu. ex> When user run YouTube through the same menu as Google Settings, popup is not displayed even though "YouTube Usage Restriction: on" SKB wants to know exactly whether there is a problem with Google policy or Google approval when implemented as above. Is it a problem with Google policy or approval if it is implemented as above? SKB want to hear "yes" or "no" answer. The link you sent me has similar content, but it's not what SKB wants. link : https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=U8YXWOR3gz0 Please contact 3PL again with the above information. Thank you YK.Jung |

Hi YK, I contacted 3PL again, 3PL can not answer it, they will ask to Google. before asking, Did SKB mention why they don't want to use restricted profiles? https://support.google.com/androidtv/answer/6123330?hl=en Thanks, Jason |

Hi Jason Thank you. Please let me know if you have a feedback YK.Jung |
Hi YK, Please check Google's feedback entry2 is Youtube2_at_HomeUI.png Thanks, Jason |
Hi Jason Yes This feature only applies when running YouTube on custom launcher. and it is also turned off by default, so most users have no restrictions on using YouTube on custom launchers. Only a few specific users who require it can restrict the use of YouTube on custom launchers. For example, there is no restriction when running YouTube through Google Setting as follows. example1_1.png -> example1_2.png. Thank you YK.Jung |
Hi YK, Please check Google's feedback (GoogeFeedback0711.jpg) Thanks, Jason |
